Changing the Way We Think About PPE

We are proud to announce the launch of REACT, a new collection of high-visibility, protective workwear. Our latest range of waterproof, high performance apparel is available to buy online now, and features men and women's shell jackets and unisex over trousers, in both orange and yellow colourways.

These new products are the result of an innovative take on high-vis design, where we have drawn inspiration from outside of the industrial sector. The in-house product development team have combined state-of-the-art fabric technology with streamlined design elements to create garments which meet the demands of workers in tough environments and conform to EN ISO 20471: 2013+A1:2016 CLASS 3, EN 343: 2019 CLASS 4.4.X and RIS-3279-TOM Issue 2:2019 (orange).

What Makes REACT Different?

The REACT range is a completely new offering with key features including:

  • Cross-Industry Insights: Taking inspiration from sportswear, snow wear, and outdoor clothing, REACT integrates elements from each to deliver superior products for workers across a wide range of industries requiring certified clothing.

  • Lightweight Performance: Lighter than previous ranges, REACT utilises two-layer laminate and stretch fabrics, offering high levels of comfort and freedom of movement.

  • Forward Thinking Design: The collection features the latest garment construction techniques, an improved fit and enhanced functionality. The measurements have been refined by an in-house product development team and are based on feedback from professional fit days. Features such as concealed, ergonomic trims and upgraded pockets make the waterproofs practical, ensuring that everything the wearer needs is easily accessible.

  • All-Season Versatility: Designed with the unpredictable British weather in mind, REACT garments perform all year round, with top tier waterproofing for mid-winter layering and breathable fabric suitable for showery summer days.

Innovative Fabric Technology

The REACT waterproof range utilises cutting-edge materials to deliver high performance:

  • Exceptional Breathability and Waterproofness: In addition to coated, waterproof zips throughout and an internal storm flap on the jacket, the main fabric features a hydrostatic head rating of 20,000mm for heavy rain protection, along with a 21,000gm2 breathability rating for managing perspiration during intense activities. The Thermal Evaporative Resistance (RET) is 6.16 and 8.3 on the breathability index in combination with the liner, far exceeding EN343 class 4 (<15).

  • Eco-Conscious Materials: The main fabric is a 2-layer construction with a non-porous hydrophilic polyester membrane and an 80% GRS Certified recycled polyester twill face. Additionally, a PFAS-free, bluesign® approved C0 DWR treatment provides safer and more responsible water-repellent properties. Mono-material fabrics, including a 100% polyester adhesive, have been selected to streamline the recycling process at the end of the product’s lifecycle.

  • Independent Testing: All fabrics undergo rigorous testing, ensuring they exceed the highest standards, including certification for up to 25 washes for EN 20471 and EN 343 class 4.

Hannah Sargent, Product Development Manager at PULSAR® explains, “With REACT, we took the opportunity to look outside of our own sector. The result is a modern, comfortable, and highly functional range that serves the diverse needs of workers across different industries.

“The fabrics are lighter, the designs are contemporary, and the fit has been carefully honed based on real feedback from professionals in the field.

“Our use of mono-material fabrics, GRS Certified recycled materials, and PFAS-free treatments ensures that REACT is both high-performance and more responsible, designed with the environment and recyclability in mind.”
